Jasmine | 茉莉公主

Finally, my third Disney Princess makeover is here! Fresh and hot (just finished it right before I composed this post)! Princess Jasmine, an exotic, fiery beauty from the Middle-east. She is fierce, intelligent and rebellious (in a good way). What she is after is a chance to see the world, a chance to experience the world, the world outside the castle wall until she met Aladdin. After all, she is still a royal blood. Freedom is never a royal thing but, with Aladdin, she found the freedom to love. She represents "freedom".

She is the only Arabic/Middle-east princess, so her dress will be more oriental and exotic. The Middle-east area  is famous for their stunning colour fabric and exquisite jewelery, so as a princess, this must be included in her dress. Now the question is, skirt or pants? Skirt looks pretty and elegant, but pants looks strong and independent. As for Jasmine, I say pants is suitable for her, so here is the design.

                                                                                                                                                                   

终于，第三个迪斯尼公主改造诞生了！既新鲜又热腾腾的（才刚画完 > <）。茉莉公主，一个来自中东具有异国风情的美女。她强悍，聪明伶俐，也挺叛逆的。他梦想着城堡外的生活；一个未知的世界，一段新的体验。直到遇到阿拉丁，她才如愿以偿。身为皇族的她，没什么自由可言，可是阿拉丁让她体验了自由与爱。她代表着“自由”。

她是迪斯尼唯一一个中东地区的公主，所以她的衣衫比较东方情调。中东地区以五彩斑斓的布料与璀璨夺目的首饰闻名，这些绝对得在茉莉公主的衣着中体现。可是问题是，裙或裤？裙子让她看起来漂亮与优雅；裤子却看起来落落大方。考量茉莉公主的性格，裤子绝对是首选。

My inspiration is her name, Jasmine, so I used jasmine flower as the main element for my design. From the headpiece to her shoes, everything is designed in jasmine flower patterns. The jewelery will be in gold with white opal for the flower. At the collar, a fine designed jasmine pattern lace is sewn on with a deep v-cut down to the belly and tied up with a jasmine gold belt. 

I struggled quite a lot on the colour. I tried pink, blue, red, yellow, black, green, but all failed. At last, I went with light cyan, a colour that represents a joyful personality and a love for life.

                                                                                                                                                                   

我的灵感来自于她的名字——茉莉。由此，茉莉花成为了我的主要设计元素，从发饰到鞋子都有茉莉花的设计。首饰将会是由金叶片与白蛋白石花而组成。领子的设计由非常细腻的茉莉花蕾丝设计，一路沿着V领的边延伸到肚脐，再由一条金色茉莉花腰带束缚着。

颜色方面，我可就头痛了。试了好多颜色都失败，有粉红，红，蓝，黑，绿等等。最后我选择了代表乐观与热爱生命的青蓝色。

This time I specially posted a close-up picture to show more details on it. I added a lot of details in this design to enhance the exotic and exquisite feeling. I personally love the collar so much!

Sunday Inspiration N°2

Cinderella | 灰姑娘

"A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartaches. Whatever you wish for, you keep. Have faith in your dreams, and someday, your rainbow will come smiling through. No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true." — Cinderella.

My second Disney Princess makeover is Cinderella, the girl who never gives up hope in her life. She always dreams for a better life and keep fights for it! (not literally but she never loses her hope even she been bullied by her step-families.) Her key characteristic is "hopeful".

By the help of her Fairy Godmother, she has the most wonderful (for that era) silver blue gown with a pair of glass slipper for a night. I am not her Fairy Godmother, but I going to redesign her one-night-only gown. The purpose of that gown is making her stand out among all the girls in that ball, so it must be something different. She needs to be the "Midnight Jewel".

                                                                                                                                                                   

终于，我的第二个迪斯尼公主改造就是灰姑娘，一个生命充满希望的女生。困苦的生活从不打击她，反之，她却一直相信终有一天她的苦日子将会结束。就如她歌中所唱的，“要对自己的梦想有信心，总有一天，彩虹会出现。”所以，灰姑娘的寓意就是“希望”！

在仙女的帮助下，她穿了一件银蓝色的晚礼服搭配绝无仅有的玻璃鞋。虽然我不是仙女，不过我将要为灰姑娘重新设计一件礼服。在我眼中，这件晚礼服的主要目的是在舞会中脱颖而出，所以需要是一件别出心裁的衣服。灰姑娘必须是那晚的“午夜宝石”。

I got some inspirations from Marchesa dresses and I came out with this sketch. With her blonde hair and fair skin in consideration, a dark blue tulle dress with sapphires and pearls beading can enhances her feature. Also, with the nature character of tulle, it will be semi-transparent and without a doubt, Cinderella can't go with half naked, body-showing dress, so an under garment is a must.

Although it will be a magic dress, but I think I put a little (just a little) too much pearls on the top, it makes her looks frivolous. So, I decided to simplify it and it going to look like the sketch on top right.

So,

"Salaga-doola, menchika-boola, Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. Put them together, and what have you got? Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. Salaga-doola, menchika-boola, Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. It will do magic, believe it or not, Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. Now, "Salagadoola" means, "A-Menchika-boola-roo," but the the thingamabob, that does the job, is "Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo."" — Fairy Godmother.

                                                                                                                                                                   

我的灵感来自于Marchesa的礼服。考虑上灰姑娘的金发碧眼和白皙的肌肤，一件深蓝色并绣上珍珠宝石的纱裙将会是绝配。因为纱布的关系，这件礼服将会是半透明状，所以一个内搭是必须的（总不可能让灰姑娘变成裸奔女吧？）。

虽说这是一件由仙女变出来的礼服，不过似乎我在胸口那放了太多装饰，让整件衣服多了一份轻浮感。所以我决定简化它，让整体看起来更优雅大方。

Taa-daa! Here is my Cinderella with flowing, semi-transparent dress; a complete set of jewellery; compatible glass slippers; a true mid-night jewel. There she goes for an unforgettable one-night dance with the prince.

                                                                                                                                                                   

于是乎，我的灰姑娘就完成了！穿着一件飘逸的薄纱裙，搭配一整套的珠宝首饰和一双玻璃鞋，一个真正的午夜宝石。
